As one of Father Dan's current flock, please let me be the first to say that Nevada is getting one fantastic Bishop. We are happy for Dan and Linda and I know they look forward to this new adventure and ministry. Our church will miss them more than they can imagine, but we know that God has spoken and we must come to terms with this bittersweet moment.

All the best,
The Walkers

My name is Mark Wimer, and I am on the Vestry at St. Francis in Macon.

The Wimer family is happy that the people of Nevada will be led by such an outstanding clergyman as Dan Edwards. I believe that Nevada has made a wise decision calling such a caring and devoted servant of Jesus Christ to wear the purple.

Shortly, Espiscopalians in Nevada will realize how fortunate you are to have Dan Edwards in your church family - we Franciscans are about to learn just how fortunate we were to have him leading our community here in Macon GA for these past years.

Congratulations Bishop-Elect Dan Edwards, and congratulations Nevada!

I have been personally enriched, guided, restored and expanded as a communicant of St. Francis Church throughout the ministry of Fr. Dan Edwards. He is a beloved priest whose service here has been an evolution for us and him. We send him to you with pride and in a spirit of generosity, knowing that he will fulfill all expectations and surprise you with the wonderful work of the Holy Spirit in him.
With ten thousand joys and sorrows, Susan Locke

He was our voice in the desert. Now he is yours! We are thrilled for him, and for you.

People of Nevada, you are going to be very happy with your new bishop! Both liberals and conservatives will be pleased because one of Father Dan's many gifts is his ability to bring diverse groups to the table and welcome them whole-heartedly. When we say St. Francis is inclusive we mean that all are welcome--conservative, liberal, rich, and poor as well as people of various ethnicities all worship and work together. This is in large part to Father Dan's commitment to making sure the word inclusive mean just that: including everyone, allowing everyone a voice, and listening carefully to what those voices have to say. We at St. Francis will miss Father Dan terribly, but we rejoice seeing him take this position where he can do even more good in Christ's name. Congratulations both to Father Dan and the Diocese of Nevada!

As a former member of St Francis who relocated to Spokane WA 13 years ago - I cheer the arrival of Dan and Linda to our side of the USA once again. I share also the tears and the bittersweet feelings that must be felt by the dear people of St Francis. Nevada is so very fortunate to have this most capable, compassionate, articulate, and loving of priests. I know Dan will lead this Diocese with integrity and care. Bless you all, Polly McMahon

Thank you to the people of St. Francis in Macon. Reading your comments brings tears to my eyes and helps me to know Dan a little better already. Your words are heart-felt and encouraging. Change is tough for everyone, but you have graciously given us reasons to look forward, even as you say goodbye. May God bless you with another wonderful leader. We will take good care of Dan.
